Want to check a suspicious message in seconds, without having to open your browser and type in our web address? By adding ScamSpotter to your phone's home screen, you can launch our AI checker with a single tap, just like a native application.
This process creates a Progressive Web App (PWA) shortcut, giving you the convenience of an app without taking up storage space. Here’s how to do it on both iPhone and Android.
For iPhone & iPad (Safari)
On Apple devices, you'll use the Safari browser's "Add to Home Screen" feature.
- Open Safari and navigate to www.scamspotter.net.
- Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen. It looks like a square with an arrow pointing upwards.
- Scroll down the share menu and tap on "Add to Home Screen".
- You can rename the shortcut if you like (we recommend "ScamSpotter"). Then, tap "Add" in the top-right corner.
The ScamSpotter icon will now appear on your home screen. Tapping it will open the site directly in a clean, app-like window.
For Android (Chrome)
The process is very similar on Android devices using the Google Chrome browser.
- Open Chrome and go to www.scamspotter.net.
- Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner to open the browser menu.
- From the dropdown menu, select "Install app" or "Add to Home screen".
- Confirm by tapping "Install" or "Add" in the pop-up prompt.
The ScamSpotter shortcut will be added to your home screen or app drawer, ready for instant use whenever you get a suspicious message.
Now You're Ready!
With ScamSpotter on your home screen, you're just one tap away from protecting yourself and your family from online scams. Stay vigilant!
